Accounts group access control data by dealer, and customer. Users associated with a specific Account only have access to other data associated with that Account.
Accounts are organized into a 2-tier hierarchy: dealer accounts, and customer accounts. Every customer account is associated with (managed by) a dealer account. All meaningful access control data is associated with a customer account. Dealer accounts have visibility into the customer accounts they manage.
Note that if you are a user associated with an Account, you cannot edit your own Account - you can only create, modify, and delete accounts managed by your Account.
To use and view the system as if you are logged in to a specific Account you manage, you may use the Impersonate function. To do so, select the Account you wish to impersonate, and then click the Impersonate toolbar button. While impersonating an account, you will see Impersonating account in the upper left, with the name of the account you are impersonating, and a link to Switch back. |
